Picasso’s Penis – It’s Everywhere!
Performances (Scripted)
While working on an art history lecture about Picasso for the Katonah Museum of Art, I discovered that the artist had drawn a picture of his penis in 1917. I used this information to invent an almost-plausible scenario in which Picasso inserts a “penis icon” into several paintings of his mistress, Marie-Therese Walter. I shared my thesis — using a PowerPoint presentation and an uppity British accent — with bemused audiences on repeated occasions. (This is one of my favorite scripted performances!)
